Iraq Energy Refining Company Iraq energy Refining Company, It was established in the 2008s fifteen km from Erbil. (IERC) Using its sophisticated and state-of-the-art industrial facilities, (IERC) is capable of refining approximately 160000 tons of crude oil per year providing a variety of products used in industrial operation, transportation, private consumption, agriculture and infrastructures.
With the refining business representing 90% of the Company's total activities, (IERC) produces refined products with a high added value by using complex refinery facilities and at 7.4 on the Nelson Complexity Index. The Company has a maximum crude oil refining capacity of approximately 450 tons per day (2000 barrels per day). Over 85% of the Company's produce goes to local consumption, while the balance is exported, primarily to Iran.

The main activity of the Refinery is to process the crude oil and condensate into various finished petroleum products, which are intended to meet the domestic demand as well as for export. The main finished products are premium gasoline, jet fuel, diesel and fuel oil.


To ensure the health and safety of the refinery's staff, contractors and neighbours, the highest safety engineering standards have been incorporated into the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the plant and all equipment.
